Writer's Block: Personality Trait = Trouble
Playing devil's advocate, I'm sure. It doesn't matter what someones position is, I for some reason always want to argue against it. Even if I don't agree with my own argument. | | Friday, December 28th, 2007 | | 2:04 am |
Of possible interest to fans of the Palladium Books RPG games. Terrible sad news...Kevin Siembieda says it best here... http://www.erickwujcik.com/ Current Mood: sad | | Saturday, October 6th, 2007 | | 12:04 am |
worst day in recent memory Not only was work hell, when I returned my Dad's phone call from earlier in the day, he informed me that they had put the family dog, Cleo, down. They live in New Mexico now, so I don't see them very much, and its been over a year since I've gotten to see Cleo. Now I'll never get to again. My poor puppy. Ill miss you :( Current Mood: depressed | | Saturday, March 3rd, 2007 | | 1:58 am |
Irregular update 1. Have my next apartment picked out and squared away. 2. Got a haircut, am reasonably pleased with it. 3. Going to the gym and eating reasonably healthy DOES work. Current Mood: hopeful | | Thursday, December 21st, 2006 | | 1:59 am |
Well, Ladies and Germs....its time once again for my seasonal LiveJournal post. Much has happened in the last few months, so buckle in... Thundercat House (the apartment shared by Christian Flottman, Anne Damron, and Myself) quickly became renowned for the parties we threw. It almost became an assumption around Best Buy for a few months that if it was the weekend, there was badassery going on here. Unfortunately, our near party monopoly was shattered on Election Day when one of our parties finally netted us a visit from the real police (not the courtesy cop) and a noise violation ticket ($165). It was with a heavy sadness that we decreed an official Party Hiatus. But, luckily, parties have a way of finding a place to happen....and many other locales have begun to host more frequently. Thundercat house has also been host to a fair amount of melodrama lately. I wont rehash all the details...especially since if you are reading this, you probably already know all about it. But things here at least have returned to a relative state of normalcy. I took on a new position at work as well, several months ago. I now am the store's Business Technology Specialist. I focus on acquiring new business customers for the company and generating leads for our on-site consultant and district commercial sales manager. Its pretty slick...I still get to be the store's general know-it-all, but I also get to focus my attention in an interesting area. Also, best buy is paying to get me MCP certified! Ive also come to the pretty definite conclusion that I am going to attend law school sometime soon. Ive been doing LSAT test prep lately in the hopes that a stellar score can help me get into a good school. I think I owe to myself to continue my education and my earning potential. Also of important note, I am dating a wonderful girl named Amy. We've been seeing each other for 7-8 months now, and its awesome. the vacation I didnt want JE-SUS I have been soo sick this week. A wicked infection, so bad apparently that Im on 30 days of antibiotics and if my symptoms worsen, I have to go to the emergency room for possible blood poisoning(!). I havent felt this miserable since my bout with mono last year. All I can say is, thank god for nyquil (it let me sleep last night). Current Mood: sick | | Friday, September 2nd, 2005 | | 5:39 pm |
Anyone who is wondering how to easily donate some money to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund, Best Buy can accept donations direct at the register. Any amount can be donated, and for the purpose of donation, they can accept cash, check, charge, travelers check, even best buy gift cards and store credit. So if you have a gift card thats been sitting in your wallet since xmas, forget about buying a movie and buy someone a meal or two instead. I have alot of opinions on the civil and environmental engineering aspects of this, but that kind of talk can wait until people have somewhere out of the sun to rest and some food in thier tummies. I cant believe I took the time to fill out this gay meme. | | Monday, August 15th, 2005 | | 1:35 pm |
Hey, remember me? So I never post on this thing anymore. I dont know if its out of laziness, or simple boredom. I still read all my friends entries everyday, sometimes more often, but Im basically a lurker. So, for a change, I figure Ill post something. So over the last several weeks, things have been fairly topsy turvey. Work, as always, has been very hectic. My grandfather died, not unexpectedly, at the beginning of july (it was very sad). My parents sold thier house (the house I grew up in for nearly 20 years) and had to quickly pack and move out in accordance with the buyers. So lots of packing and storing and sorting was had. I also had to take care of alot of final bills for them, because they went traveling (with the dog in tow) to wyoming to visit family. I wish I could take some time off from work and join them, I love it up there. The new place is working out pretty well. Scott and I get along pretty well. Ive learned to tune out his alarm in the morning, and he sleeps through any shenanigans I have going on at night (or in the morning for that matter). The oven isnt the greatest, but who cares, I dont cook that often. I really like my balcony (I cant wait until it cools down outside and I can really enjoy it). Im still single, though a few interesting opportunities have arisen lately. Im exploring them casually, not really trying to rush into anything serious at the moment, but I am definitely having more fun than I have in probably 8 months. My busy work schedule has hamstrung my RPG hobby. I havent run or even played in a game in like 3 months. Its pretty disappointing, because I love gaming, but such is life. Im currently watching a special on g4 about Nobuo Uematsu, my all time favorite game composer. His work on Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and the Final Fantasy series just blows me away. Can you imagine a game composer that tours the world playing symphony halls with orchestral versions of his compositions, and wins Japan's version of the song of the year grammy? He is a genius. On that note, I need to go to the bank and take care of one last bit of business for my parents. If you dont hear from me again in at least a month.....just wait longer ^_^ Current Mood: satisfiedCurrent Music: Final Fantasy | | Monday, April 4th, 2005 | | 12:31 am |

Promotion Lets see, whats new for me lately... I got promoted at work. I will now be the Media Supervisor (with 10 employees of my very own). Of course, my current departments (DI/Wireless) dont have a sup still, so Ill be making thier schedules and business plans and all that for awhile too....frown. But, Im still excited! We are launching the new sony PSP on thursday...so my first week as Sup will also be a huge product launch. My aim is to kick the crap out of the other stores in the district as far as basket attachment goes so that I can win a sweet sweet PSP of my own and humble them all before thier new competition (myself). My immediate boss (the product process manager, Danny) is a fellow D&D nerd, so we make alot of nerdy refferences when we strategize....I love it already. Im also the new viewpoint captain...so I basically run the team that tries to find and fix morale and training issues in the store. SO yea...lots of new and crazy responsibilites at work. Im also single again. Rawr. In other news, I have an xbox with xbox live now...so for all of you I know that have it... my live name is Team Poison. And I have a new phone number..so those of you that have tried and failed to call me...ask me for it and you shall receive. And Germany thinks they can insult Bush....why? I think we all know that Im a fan of porn and such...but I just read this and it turned my stomach. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/01/30/wgerm30.xmlWhat the fuck, Germany?! Forcing women into prostitution so that they can keep thier benefits? That is the most reprehensibly moronic government practice Ive ever seen. Yours rarely, -Matt- PS: Nice job having rampant unemployment, you socialist loons. Current Mood: discontent | | Thursday, November 4th, 2004 | | 2:42 pm |
